Our most frequently asked questions :

1. Do I have to sign a contract?
No, we do not believe contracts are necessary.

2. How long will it last & how long does it take to apply?
Each treatment will average approximately 21 days. Treatments can last longer than 30 days depending on weather & landscaping.  A typical treatment usually only takes about 20 minutes.

3. What chemicals are being used in my yard?

Our barrier spray chemicals are synthetic forms of pyrethrins called pyrethroids. Pyrethrins are  insecticides that are derived from the extract of chrysanthemum flowers. Pyrethroids are used in numerous  commercial products that consumers use to control insects such as household
insecticides, pet shampoos & sprays and even lice shampoos. We spray this chemical on shrubs,  low lying trees, mulch beds, etc. It is a plant derivative.          All chemicals  we use are EPA approved.

4.  Is our application suitable for plants and beneficial insects?

Yes.  The application we use is designed to target mosquitoes and other biting insects and not plants or beneficial insects. Special care is taken to prevent harm to ladybugs, butterflies and honeybees by avoiding treatment to blooming and flowering plants.

5. Will Mosquito Control kill all the mosquitoes and non-beneficial biting insects in my yard?

No service can offer 100% protection from every mosquito and biting insect.  As you might imagine, a mosquito from a neighboring property could fly into your yard and bite you before feeding on the treated foliage. However, you will find that the presence of mosquitoes and ticks are drastically reduced. If you are not satisfied,  contact us within 14 days of your treatment;  we will return and reapply our spray at no additional cost.

6. Can my children and pets play in the yard during application?

Although our application  possesses the EPA "Caution" designation which is the lowest of all EPA designations, it is recommended that children and pets remain away during application and for the additional 30 minutes required for the application to dry. It is recommended that you remove pet food and water from the area prior to application.

7.  How does our application work?

Our fogging application kills adult mosquitoes on contact.  As incoming mosquitoes wander into your yard and attempt to feed off your plants, the residue on the leaves kills them as well.

 8.  Does Mosquito Control of N.C. offer any special rates for Homeowners associations?

Yes, we offer special rates for Homeowners Associations with 5 or more properties treated at the same time.

9.   Does Mosquito Control of N.C. offer anyother type treatment than barrier spraying?

Yes, we also offer a larvacide treatment which we apply to areas that could be harbors for mosquito larvae. These are usually wet or damp areas.

Tick & Fire Ant treatments are available as well
